August 2024 Updates
Hello everyone! Welcome to my updates newsletter. I won’t pretend there’s much consistency in how often I send these.
Considering my last update was in Janurary, I can say I’ve had a good year so far. I’ve continued working on the electric muscles. For those who don’t know, it’s a device I make that looks and moves like muscle.
Here’s a quick TLDR of what’s new in my life:
I started a startup called the Electric Muscle Company.
I have 50k in capital to develop a robot that demonstrates the superior biomechanics of the electric muscle.
Here’s a clip of me explaining the technical approach.
I’ve tweaked the muscle geometry such that it’s now much more similar to the actin-myosin sliding filament model of how biological muscle operates.
My initial tests for this new approach are going well.
I am aiming to have a working muscle device in mid September.

I Would Have Graduated This Year
One random thing I’ve been thinking about is how if I had gone to the University of Waterloo, I would have graduated this year. Pretty crazy to think about.
