Hello! Welcome to my personal newsletter, where I give updates on what I’ve been up to. My name’s Davide — I spend a lot of time thinking about education, and how to improve it.
If you prefer a video update, check it out here.
Digital Socrates
Two weeks ago, I started a new project called Digital Socrates to tackle the biggest problem in education: that getting good grades isn’t linked with deeply understanding and appreciating a subject.
This is because our tests are hackable. My goal is to make it extremely easy to evaluate students with oral exams — which is a kind of test that is much harder to hack. I’m using large language models to do this, specifically OpenAI’s GPT-3.
I’m looking to have conversations with professors. If you know any professors, or you are one yourself, please fill out the interest form below and let’s chat!
Check out the project page here.
Math Explainer Video
In April 2022, I made a math video in the style of 3blue1brown explaining group theory. Check it out here:
Reflections on My Time at Primer
From April to June 2022, I worked at Primer to create a math program that teaches math as play. Check out my takeaways from that amazing experience here:
